“Westminster at War” - Historic London Walk

 

Join us on a guided walking tour with Russell Nash, a Blue Badge guide and lecturer now known to most of us! The walk will look at how the West End coped during WWII, from the grand hotels and restaurants to the homes of the well-to-do, and what happened to the cinemas, theatres, private members clubs and shops.

 

Cost of Tour:  £18 p/p

Meeting Point: The walk will start at Embankment tube station, River Thames side, at 11.00. It will end a couple of hours later on The Mall   

Time: 10.45 for an 11.00 start

Stanley Picker House, Kingston. Morning Tour starting 11am.

Join us on this tour of a local architectural gem. Cost of visit £25.00

Stanley Herbert Picker was an enthusiastic and passionate patron of the arts who formed a very individual collection of twentieth-century sculptures and paintings. He died in 1982 leaving his house, the pavilion gallery and art collection in trust; now the Stanley Picker Trust ensures that that those interested in the arts may visit and enjoy the wonderful home he created.  The tour, which last approximately 2 hours, is fully guided, encompassing the history of the house and art collection; visitors will be guided around the house, garden and pavilion gallery.
